How to convert to PDF
Sometimes it's the little details that make a difference in the
time to transmit information to a client, or simply generate
documentation or catalogs of our products or services.
Sending information by email has become probably the quickest,
easiest and cheapest way to get our brochures, price lists, budgets,
reports, invoices, etc.. and this is where PDF files play an important
role in our communications, compared to the option of sending files in
their original format either Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Freehand or any
other application of frequent use or management.
The disadvantages of sending files in original format is mainly
the need for specific application in order to view the file, and
sending the other hand, in many cases documents can be modified.
The PDF format created by Adobe has become a standard for
electronic document creation, requiring only PDF reader (free) to view
it.
Now the question is, how to convert a document to PDF?
The first is the obvious choice, use the payment suite, Acrobat,
for creating and managing PDF's. The alternative that we tested is a
small free program that allows us to easily perform this function from
Windows applications, PDF Creator.
How does PDF Creator?
After installing the printer program creates a "virtual" in our
system with the default name PDFCreator. It is enough to select
PDFCreator as the printer when printing from the program you are using.
The end result will be our cherished document in PDF.
Download Free PDF Creator
The program can be downloaded for free from PdfForge page. After
downloading the software will be run the setup program and follow the
wizard.
IMPORTANT if you do not want your browser to see "decorated"
with another small toolbar, uncheck the option in the Tool Bar
installation process.
I have tested for use with most common Windows applications and
the result was very satisfactory. The process of creating a PDF with
PDFCreator is quick and easy.
In normal working conditions, 3 mouse clicks are enough to convert our document to PDF.
In some cases we need to make configuration settings such as
changing image compression, file compatibility with Adobe Acrobat 3.0,
4.0 or 5.0, color settings or password protect the document, for it the
Options button opens a screen that will allow us to adjust our needs easily to make the PDF file.
