The Xbox 360 is very popular console, recently about 33% of users have experienced the 3 red rings, also known as the 3 rings of death which is when your xbox 360 console displays 3 full rings and the system does not load games or sometimes turn on. If you had the misfortune of experiencing this problem with your xbox 360 and your warranty has expired then don't worry there is still hope, you still have a chance to fix it just read below to learn about The Number 1 Xbox 360 Repair Guide, and also a temporary solution you could use, but first learn what is the main cause of the 3 red rings.

WHAT CAUSES THE RINGS OF DEATH?

The 3 red rings are mostly caused by one thing, remember when you got that new game you really wanted and play straight for 8 hours, well there is your cause, "overheating", when the console is used for long periods of time, dust starts to build up, specially in enclosed places, so after a while the hard drive begins to overheat slowly, sometimes it will begin to freeze your games constantly, or turn off by itself which are signs that your console might be in risk.

HOW TO FIX 3 RED RINGS OF DEATH ON XBOX 360

Temporary Solution

A temporary solution that some 360 owners have reported to work is very simple, although it will not last for long periods of time and it will not work multiple times, it is said by many to be very effective, I cannot guaranteed you that this method will work for you since the results vary depending on the conditions of your console and the environment is in as well. This method involves using a towel around your console, some owners say that it will last from a couple of hours to sometimes a month or two, but like I said results vary, so here are the steps:

  1. Wrap your console in a dry towel and turn your xbox 360 on, make sure the 3 red rings are showing up.
  2. Let the your xbox 360 heat for about 10 minutes with the towel
  3. After about 10 minutes remove the towel and turn off your console letting it refresh for about 10 minutes
  4. Turn the console back on and the 3 rings should have disappeared

WARNING: CAREFUL WITH THIS METHOD DO NOT LEAVE THE TOWEL ON FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME SINCE THIS CAN HARM MORE PARTS IN YOUR CONSOLE, RECOMMENDED TO START WITH 5-10 MINUTES OR 10-20 MINUTES, IF IT DOES NOT WORK THEN DO NOT LEAVE ON FOR MORE TIME.

Although this a very weird method, amazingly it works like a charm, but the results will only let you play a couple of games, if you want a more permanent solution read below.

look this is what u need to do to stop it overheating : buy a xbox 360 cooler ( around price £10 ). dont send it to microsoft because i sent mine and there was nothin wrong with it!!! ( only send it if it keeps on doing it like 4 times a week ), play on your console carefully dont stop the heat from breaking out , play on it like 1 every 2 days ( if you have a cooler you can play it 24/7 )

so thats how you fix it
