Secrets To A High Hubpages Author Score
74The Hubpages author score is something that worries a lot of people, some people think that having a low score means, less money in fact it doesnt, but it has some effects, having a low score of 75 or less next to your picture does not mean you are a bad writter, or your hubs are worthless, it simply means you need to fix a couple of things on your hubs and follow some strategies to raise that score.
The 100 author score is one of the most desire things in hubpages, I sure would not mind having the 100 next to my picture, but you might be thinking is it really that important? well, it is, and here is why having a high score means popularity in hubpages, means more traffic to your hubs and as a result more chances of increasing your income with hubpages.
This is my 50th hub and I been part of hubpages so far for about 3 months and since the first week I join my score has been in the 90s non-stop so far the highest was 96 but I been documenting and learning the factors that can change your score drastically to keep control of it and I can say I learned some things that are pretty useful towards that 100 score, I will discuss the importance of that high score and how to archieve and maintain a high score.
THE MEANING OF A HIGH AUTHOR SCORE
As I been part of hubpages for some months now I noticed that most of the traffic comes from hubpages itself, then comes the search engines, so it was clear that I need it to improve my popularity in the hubpages community, so having a score of over 85 will increase your popularity and the traffic in your hubs, the author score is calculated around 2 factors
- traffic
- activity
the amount of traffic you can get to your hubs will increase your score but the activity or the time you spend on hubpages commenting, rating and any other activities will help your score as well, now you want to know how to raise that score I will share the results of my research on this hub and although is based on my personal experience I hope it helps other hubbers increase their score as well.
SECRETS TO RAISE YOUR AUTHOR SCORE
REMINDER: Remember this results are from my personal experience but they did work and I been able to maintain a score above 85 for quite some time now and I expect to get to 100 soon, hoping that this information can help other hubbers out there.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS TO A HIGH AUTHOR SCORE BY LESTER
- How many hubs do I need to have a score above 85?
The amount of hubs you have does not matter but 10% of the total amount of hubs you have should have an individual hub score of over 80, for example if you have 50 hubs like me at least 10 hubs should have an individual score of over 80 that means those hubs are getting a decent amount of traffic daily and that will help your author score.
2. How active do I need to be on Hubpages?
In my experience I try to log into my account everyday to approve comments, check my score, see the amount of views I have and also it helps to answer some questions in the answer section because it raises your awareness in the community, try to answer some questions once a week and you can also get some good ideas for hubs in there.
3. How many hubs should I have to maintain my score?
Something I noticed also is that when you spend some time without publishing a new hub, your score starts to lower, is like an animal that needs to be fed once in a while, my recommendation is to make at least 3 hubs every 7 days or 3 hubs per week to keep the flow going.
4. What can I do if my hubs are all low in score?
Remember traffic is one of the most important things to raise the score, so see in your account your best performing hubs and use social bookmarking sites or use them to respond related questions in the answer sections, I will placed a link on the bottom to help you with this.
5. What kind of hubs work better to increase my score?
That is a difficult question but hubs dedicated to answer a question ask by a lot of people get higher scores, hubs to help the hubpages community and hubs to give tips about popular topics in the search engines perform better.
6. How can my hubs perform better in score?
To obtain the highest possible score in a hub you need to try to keep your hubs above 700 words I noticed some short hubs receive scores of 40s when above 700 words received in the 50s right away.
7. How can I get better traffic from search engines?
2 things for this the tittle of your hub should not be too long and the tags should be all related I will post a link to help you with this.
8. Whats a sure way to get to 100 author score?
Have 50% of your hubs with a score above 85 and quality unique content with high traffic.

"maintain a score above 85 for quite some time now and I expect to get to 100 soon, "
Thanks Iesterd! Wonderful hub and quite helpful. Keep it up.
You didn't mention the biggest reason to get a score above 75. If your author score isn't at least 75, ALL of your links from your Hubs are nofollowed, even if the Hubscore is 99.
I'm new and just figuring all this stuff out, so I keep getting surprised after getting the whole "Just 3 easy steps" introduction to Hubpages.
By the way, just FYI regarding the starting HubScore. If you do the Photo-Text-Comments template and put in a graphic and write 400 words, your score will start at 50. Leave out the graphic and your score starts in the 40s.
I am going to read some more. I am new at this.
Thank you

Thanks, looks like I need to up the number of words on my hubs to start off with to get them a bit better score, will work on that.
These are some great tips. I have always struggled to compete with other hub page authors in my niche. I promote the gaming niche and was sad to see low score.
And I'll surely be more active on the forums. Thanks for the tips!
Really helpful hub. My author score has dipped to only 74 but I have not been very active lately... Time to add some more high quality hubs. ;)
Very good hub, certainly will help!
Very nice .. I am new to hubpages and was looking for some decent information and voila! I came across your hub. Thanks
Thanks for the tips, good to know what hubpages is after in return for some linkage!
Very good advice, but your math in the first question is wrong. (Sorry math geek and this sort of stuff sticks out to me) You need five of your fifty hubs to be over 80 to have ten percent above that threshold. Sorry to point it out... I just figured you'd want to fix the mistake. You can delete this comment I won't be offended. But I figured you'd like to know.
This what I need. I need to make my author score 75+. By the way, I am new in this, so thanks for the tips. I'll try it
This is useful information. I was wondering also what I should do to increase my Hubscore and a little clueless. Now, I have specific goals to set.
Being new to Hubpages, all of my Hubs are sub-50 and my author score is sub-40. Hopefully I can use these tips to increase my scores.
Thanks.
Thanks for the info. Still learning the ropes with Hubpages and man does it look like there is a lot to learn.

Thanks for the great article. I've been wondering how to get my author score up.
Thanks. great info
good advice about hubscore and retain the score with your practical experience..
thanks for all the great information, rightnow am at 64 and am gonna try a liitle bit harder to get a high score
Excellent article. thanks! I noticed an arithmetic discrepancy. You mentioned: 1. How many hubs do I need to have a score above 85?
The amount of hubs you have does not matter but 10% of the total amount of hubs you have should have an individual hub score of over 80, for example if you have 50 hubs like me at least 10 hubs should have an individual score of over 80
10% of 50 would be 5, so is it 10%, which would be 5, or 20% which would be 10?
thanks for those tips, i'm new to hubpages and i'm looking forward to increase my individual score above 75. I'll try your tips and see it myself. :-)
Great advice, thanks very much
Thanks for the advice!
i think my my problem is spending too many time on hubages without publishing any hubs. Thanks lesterd
This was really useful thanks. I have only just started and was finding the whole score thing quite alarming so thanks again.
these are some useful tips but I have noticed a few hubbers who have little to no activity for a couple of months and are maintaining high hub scores. It seems if I leave mine alone for more than a few days it drops.
Very nice, interesting and useful article. Keep going!
Good advice. Thanks!
This is exactly the info I needed. Thanks.
Wow a lot of work! Thanks for the informative article. I need to dedicate some time each day then to getting my stuff going.
very good info. But it seems like a lot of work. It is probably easier to move all your content to squidoo
thank you! Being new to hubpages, this helped out a ton!
Thanks for the easy to understand tips!
Really helpful tips to be a successful Hubber. Thanks.
If you have 50 hubs then you only need 5 to be above hub score 80, not 10 - which would be 20%.
Thanks for the info, being wondering how to increase the score.
well this might be old but still useful, hopefully this comment will keep this hub score fresh :)
I hadn't realised until recently how much effort you need to put into hub pages. But I guess its worth it since they definitely do rank well!
Thanks
so grateful i've been here. I'm new to HubPages and is also trying to improve my hub scores and as well as author score. thank you for this very useful info.
Great and very informative hub. This has given me a few things to try on my hubs. Thanks!
Very informative. Thank you!
Great! I did a search because mine is so low. I just started a couple days ago, had writers block, and didn't write until today, and my first hub is rated at 48 even though I JUST published it, and the one by my pic is 19! Must be because I haven't been active since signing up - except to read others' hubs on how to be successful.
It is very useful hub. Thank you.
Thanks.. It is useful, been searching this answer for some time.
Thanks for the clarity.
Great tips, but fix the typos.
